Having problems with your Gateway GMAX 2100 Computer Speakers ?

POPPING NOISE I TURN THEM ON AND EVERY ONCE COUPLE SECONDS A LOUD POPPING NOISE HAPPENS.....HELP PLEASE...THX

Answers :

Same popping sound problem with my Gateway computer and GMAX 2100 speakers. First the popping was sporadic, then it kept getting worse. The problem was in the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS board. I replaced it with a less expensive Audigy SE board and the problem is fixed, sound is great. \015\012\015\012I looked closely at the old board and it looks like there were defects in 3 of the solder connections on the back of the board. It looked like corrosion in the solder or something was shoring a few of the posts. \015\012\015\012\015\012CC
There is a fault with this model that Logitech know about. It is a design fault regarding improper shielding. See this link for more info:\015\012http://forums.logitech.com/logitech/board/message?board.id=51_speakers&message.id=811&view=by_date_ascending&page=1

It is not very loud, but it occurs about every 3 seconds. Every time it beeps, the keyboard will not type the letters that I pressed during the

When the power button is pressed it powers up, all the status lights flash on once and then the hard drive status light will flash intermittently approximately every 2 seconds and a audible pop is heard from the speakers. In the 2 second gap the CD drive light will flash as if trying to spool up. This will continue until the power button is again depressed to turn the machine of. It will now not boot at all.
