Having problems with your Samsung SyncMaster 175V 17" LCD Monitor ?

All I get is a white screen

\015 I have a samsung syncmaster 175v 17" and my problem is when the computer comes on all I get on the monitor is white...? Any clue? Thanks for your help...Louis\015

I have a Samsung Syncmaster 175v Mfg Oct '03 displaying the __ White\015\012Screen . I removed the screws on the back , removed base stand,\015\012separated case with flat screwdriver starting at bottom, unplugged the\015\012small wire to the panel menu buttons , removed metal cover from back of\015\012LCD. Now you can see the powerboard \\ inverterboard combo and the\015\012attached video signalboard. Follow the 30 wire plug to the LCD screen,\015\012the 30 wire plug goes under a metal panel , remove the 3 small screws\015\012securing the panel and you will see the hidden LCD screenboard. Very\015\012close to where the 30 wire plug attaches to this screenboard on the\015\012Rightside you will see with a magnifying glass a SurfaceMounted Fuse\015\012named F1 with a value? of "K". On my LCD the fuse tested with a\015\012volt-ohmmeter to be Open or Blown. The right thing to do would be to\015\012replace the fuse however I acquired my LCD from a trashcan / dumpster\015\012so I stretched a drop of solder connecting both sides of the fuse. Now\015\012I do not have the protection from power failures and surges that the\015\012fuse could offer but upon reassembly my screen works like new again .
